Prompt Chain Builder
Big tasks go better in steps. Sequence prompts into a repeatable workflow — outline, draft, critique, polish — and copy the whole chain at once. Free, browser-only, nothing stored.
Step 1 — Outline Create a detailed outline for [the deliverable] about [topic]. Use clear section headings. Step 2 — Draft Using the outline above, write a complete first draft. Keep the tone [tone]. Step 3 — Polish Revise the draft to address that critique. Tighten the language and fix weak transitions.
One job at a time
Asking a model to “write a great blog post” in one shot forces it to plan, write, and self-edit all at once — and it tends to do all three adequately rather than any of them well. Splitting the work into a chain lets each prompt focus: the outline step structures the thinking, the draft step writes from that structure, and a critique step catches what the draft missed before you polish it.
Build each step here, then sharpen any single prompt with the Prompt Grader or start one from scratch with the Prompt Builder.
Common questions
What is a prompt chain?
A prompt chain is a sequence of prompts you run in order, feeding each answer into the next — for example outline, then draft, then critique, then polish. Breaking a big job into steps gives the model one clear thing to do at a time, which usually beats asking for everything in a single prompt.
How do I run the chain once I have built it?
Copy the chain, then run the steps one at a time in ChatGPT or Claude. After each response, paste it in and move to the next step. The numbered format is designed to make that hand-off obvious.
Can I edit the preset steps?
Yes. Every step is fully editable — change the wording, rename it, reorder it, or delete it. Use the preset buttons as a starting point and shape the chain around your own task.
